Yup yup, just t'other day I made my third video of all time - a lil' trippy horror video called "The Witchfinder" based on a nightmare my brother Calum had a couple of weeks ago. We're alone in the country looking after our parent's house at the moment so I guess it's only natural for things to get slightly weird and cabin fever-y.
I won't say anything about the, ahem, 'story' or anything, just give 'er a watch sure

Trust me, it'll be totally worth it

Wide-angle wanderings in West Cork!
Mmm, alliteration
So yeah, long story short, my dad lent me his lovely 16mm wide-angle lens to try out on a wee trip down to the Beara Peninsula kind-of area. It turned out to be an absolutely lovely day, particularly in the second location of the day. I took an absolute shitload, but here's a bit more select few I chose from the day:
Here's a few from the first place we visited, a mostly rocky bit of coast with a jetty and assorted kayakers, and a bit of more beachy section I came across on the far side of some rocks (where the strange pipe and electric box were)
This part of the trip was mostly getting to grips with the wide-angle style of shooting and the differences that come with it compared to shooting with the zoom lens from my previous posts. One element I found very interesting was how I began to almost exclusively center my subjects - something about this just seemed to work with the much wider angle.
Oh, just to clarify for anyone who's wondering, these shots were taken with my current camera (a Canon 40d) which has a cropped sensor, hence the lack of any circle you'd usually get with a wide-angle lens.
Here's a road.
Yup.
So, onto the main course, the plat principal if you will - the second place we visited on this sojourn into the West, another random rocky piece of coastline that was amazingly photogenic, especially with the new-found sunshine and blue skies caressing the shimmering waters and the smoothened rocks. Mmmmm
Look at that bloody water! It's fuckin' lovely!
That's all for now, stay tuned for future photos and maybe video depending on whether I get 'round to it!
